St. Basil Parish organised a farewell dinner for Rev’d Moses Jakir who was transferred to St. Francis Kota Samarahan on Friday, 24th November 2017, at the Cha Cha Moon Restaurant at 7.30pm.
The invited guest was Bishop, The Very Rev’d Danald Jute and his wife, Mdm. Julita. On hand to received him was the Priest-In-Charge, Vicar Rev’d Jose Jol, his wife, Rev’d Moses Jikr and his wife, Sub-Deacons, PCC members, Lay Readers and Women Fellowship of the Parish.
In his speech, Rev’d Jose Jol welcomed the Bishop and his wife and give thanks to Rev’d Moses for his service to St. basil Church before reciting grace for the dinner.
Among the programmes organised during the night were Karoake singing, photo-taking with the Bishop and the diners and a special birthday cake for Bishop Danald 51st birthday.
Rev’d Moses thank the Priest-in-Charge, Rev’d Jose Jol, The PCC, the Lay Readers and the congregations for the support he received while serving the Parish before his transfer to St. Francis Church.
In his speech, Bishop Danald rejoiced at the opportunity to meet and fellowship with brothers and sisters of the Parish during his acquaintance with them as a young priest and now as the new Bishop.
Members of the house group Kwong Thiong sang the birthday song for the Bishop.
