The consecration service of the new St. Francis’ Parish building by the Bishop, the Right Reverend Danald Jute on Sunday, 29th September 2019.Built on the former site of the old church building, the idea to build the new church was to contain the ever increasing number of parishioners, over a thousand, due to the rapid population growth as a Division to provide pastoral care and to evangelise to these people. The architectural design of the building resemble image of an eagle.
The church is helmed by the Rev’d Canon Dennis Gimang.
The event started at 12.00pm with a light refreshment served to invited guests, Archbishop of Myanmar, the Most Rev’d Stephen Thant and delegates from St. Paul Petra Jaya and from West Malaysia.
At 1.00pm, the consecration service proceed with a procession from the Parish Hall to the Church entrance.

ishop then proceed with the blessing with Holy Water at various sections of the building and ended with the Holy Eucharist for the 863 parishioners.
Bishop confirmed the consecration of St. Francis’ Church and the signing ceremony took place with Rev’d Canon Dennis Gimang, Mr. Kassim Jeritan and Mdm. Lilly Paul Nuing as witness. Bishop Danald handed the certificate of Consecration to Canon Dennis followed by the signing of the Pledge by Bishop Danald and Archbishop of Myanmar, the Most Rev’d StephenThant.
Holy Communion Service followed with the order for Liturgy. The Old Testament was read by Mr. Laurance Engkamat taken from the book of Genesis 12:1-7. The Epistle taken from the Book of Philipians 3:10-20 was read by Ms. Lim Poh May and the Gospel ‘Luke 5:1-11′ was read by Rev’d Rodriguez Charles Unak.
The Sermon was preached by Bishop Danald Jute on Gospel St. Luke 5:1-11 on the impossible but God turns it around and makes it possible. Men’s plan cannot make it without God’s strength. The theme for the Church is Moving Forward Intentionally and not look back.
